Job Description

Classification:  Project Leader/ManagerCompensation:  $55.00 to $70.00 per hourA local client is looking for a Senior Project Manager that takes projects from the original concept through final implementation. They are responsible for the coordination and completion of product development projects including managing schedules, scope, issues, risks, and communication. They serve as a liaison between the business and the Engineering/IT departments during the lifecycle of product/services development. They function under minimal supervision managing end-to-end strategic projects, usually large in scope, budget, and team. Conduct project kickoff meetings, communicating roles and expectations.
Provide work direction and leadership on assigned projects. Motivate assigned project teams to meet or exceed expectations.
Develop and manage overall project schedules.
Coordinate cross-functional and cross-departmental resources.
Monitor project milestones and critical dates to identify potential project schedule risks and works with project teams to identify ways to resolve issues.
Develop and manage communication plans.
Proactively manage project risks to take advantage of opportunities and minimize negative impacts.
Provide project status reporting, gathers metrics, and develop and implement changes as necessary to ensure that the project meets objectives.
Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with project team members, sponsors, and key clients.
Identify business needs and drivers for projects. Understand and manage project priorities to match the business environment.
Mentor less experienced personnel on all project management skills and responsibilities.
Drive project management best practices and efficient processes. 

Job Requirements

Senior Project Manager with 6-9+ years of experience in project management
Experience leading cross-functional project teams
Experience managing projects/programs in a matrix organization
Experience mentoring other projects managers
