Job Description
Responsible for the implementation and execution of grocery marketing and merchandising programs which includes: financial planning, planned advertising, display activity, and feature pricing.
Job Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1.Implements and executes all of the corporate grocery programs.
2.Negotiates commitments and agreements to obtain products at the right time at the right cost to sell at the right retail.
3.Coordinates all of the local DSD & regional item purchasing and merchandising in the stores.
4.Coordinates the execution of timely & accurate cost & retail changes for DSD items.
5.Develops a merchandising and marketing program that ensures achieving profit and sales plans.
6.Establishes checks and balances to ensure both sales and profit plans are achieved.
7.Oversees the billing and collection of all grocery allowances for all the stores in the district.
8.Calculates all of the financial reporting.
9.Utilizes merchandising tools provided to accurately project store results for regional ad items.
10.Authorizes selection of new items and deleted items.
11.Ensures unit and pricing integrity occurs in all of the stores.
12.Determines long and short - term goals to meet sales and gross margin plans, in conjunction with Category Manager.
13.Visits competition to research pricing and merchandising presentation.
14.Develops and maintains a proactive action plan for the operation of the district office.
15.Ensures merchandise flow with the local grocery supplier.
16.Develops and maintains vendor relationships.
17.Supports store reset programs.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1.Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent.
2.A minimum of 5 years experience in merchandising or marketing directly related to a grocery retail business.
3.A minimum of 3 years supervisory or management experience in merchandising or marketing.
4.A proven knowledge of marketing and merchandising.
5.Strong vendor negotiation skills.
6.Basic computer skills including windows, excel, and other on line systems.
7.Ability to motivate people, manage multiple activities, and meet deadlines.
