Responsibilities and prospects for Quality Engineer include:
-

Provide data and communicate the need for quality improvements to the Quality Assurance Manager on production programs to ensure conformity of the purchased parts, materials or processes to ensure the final product quality standards for specific customer platform programs
-

Lead or assist in the development of an effective 8-D corrective action system for supplier non-conforming product
-

Provide recommendations for revision and update of the Procedures Manual, Manufacturing Work Instructions to incorporate changes and improvements in the Quality Systems
-

Meet with suppliers, customers, quality representatives and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required
-

Execute product containment actions to protect the customer from non-conforming material arriving at their facilities
-

Assist plant personnel in maintaining our TS-16949 Quality Systems Registration and highlight areas for continuous improvement
-

Assure that all EH&S and all safety policies are being followed and those safe working conditions exist in all areas
-

Assure that all manufactured products conform to customer requirements and specifications
-

Assist the organization in meeting and achieving superior quality and product reliability levels
Education and experience for Quality Engineer include:
-

BS, BA or four-year technical degree required
-

3-5 years experience in the Automotive area or related field with similar high volumes
-

Formal education in mathematics, statistics (minitabs) and industrial manufacturing practices are essential
-

CQE, CQA with The American Society for Quality ASQ is preferred
-

Direct supervision experience is preferred
-

Experience with TS-16949 requirements is preferred
-

Expertise in computers a prerequisite
