Classification: Media PlannerCompensation: DOEStaffing Industry Leader, Robert Half International is currently looking for a Public Relations Manager with a solid media relations background to join our local Public Relations team. In this fast-paced, multi-faceted position, the District Public Relations Manager will be responsible for securing media coverage in major and tier two markets across multiple states. Additionally, the person will promote RHI's PR program with our field staff generating local PR opportunities. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Public Relations, this person will be part of a small team that is based throughout the Western and Central United States.Principal Responsibilities
• Consistently secure media coverage in major markets and tier two markets across multiple states
• Act as Corporate Communications liaison to the local field offices
• Build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of media across multiple states
• Work with local offices to promote local PR program, encourage use of our research and presentation materials, and create a local PR plan
• Meet regularly with designated spokespersons to develop a proactive plan for local media relations (i.e., develop media contact lists, pitch local media, assist with bylined articles)
• Coordinate local media interviews; coach spokespersons
• Identify traditional and unique outlets for local media coverage, including TV, radio, blogs, newspapers, newsletters, trade publications and more
• Write press releases announcing new office openings, newcomers and promotions, new divisions, etc.
• Work with Corporate Communications to generate story ideas for internal newsletters and initiatives
• Secure media coverage for special events (i.e., presentations and speeches, professional education events, philanthropic initiatives, etc.)
• Prepare local speeches, presentations and research
• Identify PR opportunities with RHIs alliances and other professional associations at the local level, including speaking opportunities at meetings, article submissions for chapter newsletters and content for chapter websites
• Identify new, creative ways for RHI to gain positive media exposure at the local level, and work with local teams and Corporate Communications to implement new strategies
• Develop custom pitches based on local market drivers
• Track and report on all media coverage
Job Requirements
Requirements
• Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Communications or related field
• 5+ years of experience in public relations
• PR agency experience
• Service industry and B2B PR experience a plus
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Experience using CisionPoint/Vocus and knowledge of social media, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
• Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills
