Description
The Configuration and Asset Manager maintains, enforces, and enhances the Configuration and Asset Management Solutions. This role primarily focuses on ensuring accurate and timely availability of configuration and asset information for operational use. The role provides an interface to other service delivery partner groups (e.g. Service Desk, Business Systems, Data Center, etc.), ensuring effective integration of the Configuration and Asset Management process.Work Products

•Owner of and responsible for the Asset Management Database (AMDB) and fucntion
•Owner of and responsible for the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and function
•Owner of and responsible for the Configuration Management Discovery
•Provides first line escalation point for customer service dissatisfaction with the Asset & Configuration Management Process
•Invokes escalation procedures and reports exceptions to management
•Ensures compliance with Asset & Configuration Management standards and procedures
•Develops requirements for Asset & Configuration Management information, standards, procedures, measurements, tools, and technology
•Responsible for effective implementation and maintenance of Asset & Configuration Management procedures and working practices
•Manages internal improvement projects to implement new technology and process improvement, ensuring compatibility and integration with other processes
•Acts as an Asset Analyst as demand dictates
•Acts as a subject matter resource and coordinator for new Project Requests where Asset and/or Configuration Management is a major project component
•Works closely with Business Systems to ensure appropriate application manageability for enhancements and new developments
•Communicates new developments in Asset & Configuration Management standards, procedures and technology
•Develops annual objectives and targets for the Asset & Configuration Management process in conjunction with other process owners under the coordination / control of the Change Manager.
•Enhances automation and processes to increase information integrity / accuracy and reduce variances
•Enhances customer service through process audit and reporting
•Manages the maintenance support process with our suppliers, including escalations of support, and ownership of resolution.
•Estimates overall resource and budget requirements for Asset & Configuration Management as input to the Operational Plan in conjunction with other second and third level process owners under the co-ordination and control of the Change Manager. This would include items such as:
•Staff training and development needs
•New technology capital spend and development
•Process improvement
•Measurement improvement
•Ensures compliance with and provides input to staff training plan where appropriate
•Conducts/participates in Asset & Configuration Management associates performance reviews as appropriate
•Attends appropriate management level service support and development reviews (Including supplier meetings and SLA development and review meetings)
•Collates and analyzes process measurements associated with Asset & Configuration Management and recommends improvement activities based on service deviation
•Consolidates and provides Asset & Configuration Management process measurements for management reporting
•Builds relationships with the business units to ensure good working relationship and effective communication methods and paths
•Oversees and manages the Asset & Configuration Management team and the Vendor and Hardware Maintenance team.
•Participates in new RFP and SOW creation and process for hardware vendor support agreements.

•Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
•Minimum of 6 years in information technology leadership role
•Minimum of 5 years Asset Management experience with comprehensive understanding of and experience in Asset Management
•Process Mapping
•ITSM and Asset Mgmt tools
•Knowledge / experience of contract and/or vendor mgmt
•Experience managing complex environments
•Minimum of 3 years Configuration Management experience with comprehensive understanding of and experience in Configuration Management
•ITIL Foundations education and certification, advanced preferred
•Continuous improvement background and training, prefer Six Sigma green belt, TQM, etc.
•Experience managing and implementing enterprise-level technical projects
•Demonstrated technical knowledge and ability to
•Translate technical requirements and specifications into easy to understand business concepts and services
•Specify and implement enterprise level technical solutions to support high volume of users and assets.
•Navigate and build strong relationships in a complex organization
•Influence Business Partner and IT decision making
•Optimize and improve a technical solution
