GENERAL SUMMARY: The Manager, New Business - Pharmacy is responsible for all major initiatives to drive new business into Kmart pharmacy working collaboratively with other pharmacy directors. Major focus areas include pharmacy file acquisitions, pharmacy expansion (remodels/new construction), specialty pharmacy and in-store clinics
Job Requirements
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES1. Responsible for all aspects of pharmacy file acquisition. Identification of potential sellers and strategic markets, analysis of file viability, formal proposal creation (finance coordination), agreement execution (legal coordination), negotiation of final terms, acquisition completion (Rx operation coordination), marketing to acquisition customers (Rx administration coordination) and analytics of executed acquisitions (analytics team coordination). Responsible for establishing and managing annual budget for acquisition. Responsible for training PDC to identify potential acquisition targets and perform due diligence on potential partners.2. Responsible for competitor database monitoring. Works closely with real estate, Rx operations, and business analyst to create comprehensive view of competitor activity and impact on pharmacy business by store/market/region. Provides quarterly summary analysis to pharmacy division leadership team with application for competitive response and business management.3. Responsible for all pharmacy remodel/expansion projects. Perform site and market analysis for ROI potential. Create proforma for all proposed sites and CPR for all approved sites. Coordinate pharmacy requests with Store Operations. Confirm pharmacy request with Real Estate. Monitor progress from permitting to completion of project with Construction. Responsible for analytics of remodel/expansion performance providing monthly updates to the pharmacy department leadership team.4. Responsible for coordination of all in-store healthcare (license business/drugstore) initiatives related to pharmacy. Managing pharmacist role, measurement of performance and reporting to all appropriate parties.5. Responsible for establishment of specialty pharmacy at Kmart pharmacy. Identification and selection of partners and delivery of services. Complete business model/proposal (license, build, buy) and provide recommendations as market evolves. Execute deals as required and provide analytics of performance compared to deal parameters.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:1. MBA required.
2. 2 years pharmacy file acquisition experience.
3. Action and process oriented with ability to develop procedures and/or department staff
4. Experience with Real Estate and/or Construction preferred.
5. Ability to perform financial analysis, develop and manage budgets and negotiate purchases.
6. Strong computer skills to include spreadsheet, database and word processor programs.
7. Ability to handle multiple tasks and take direction from multiple sources at one time.
8. Strong oral and written communication skills.
